Senior Steel delivered this while I was at work yesterday, it's the steel beam that will span over the sliding folding rear door. Bear in mind that Emma and I could barely lift it (and probably shouldnt have), ONE GUY dropped this off onto our drive from his lorry by himself. I dont even want to know: We got another section of wallplate bolted down:
And we marked out the position of our internal walls using the paint left over from marking out the foundations. Here's our bathroom, kitchen, and airing cupboard viewed from the living room:

You can see the incoming water main pops up in the corner of the kitchen as it should do - I was a bit worried it would end up in the corner of the bathroom somehow! Dont know why though, I did measure it. Nice to see that it really is in the right place.

  2. I'd get the ends of the RSJ painted up before they rust.. and stick it up on some blocks to get it off the ground..

  3. It is up on blocks now, straight after I took that picture in fact. Good point about painting the ends, I'd not noticed that!

  4. are you planning block walls inside? or is that block just there for an idea of wall width?
