At the moment they foul each other if you open them seperately (because I havent got a thin enough screwdriver to adjust the hinges) so that explains why they're being opened both at the same time. It's pretty effortless to open them, as the arm is quite powerful, and you can actually leave them at any point and they stay still. Really quite clever :)
