Setting out

Monday afternoon both Emma and I had the day off to set out our house. So we bought some wooden stakes and bright pink (Emma's choice) twine, and began marking out the gridlines on which we'll build our walls. Twine stretches, so you have to set a corner out like this:

It took all afternoon to set out 8 gridlines like this! coming back to the original point we had an error of 10mm - not bad for a tape measure, a giant set square and some string :)
