We have been having some discussions with E-on, to provide us with a new electricity connection. This has dragged on for some time because they wanted £3500 to do the job, without really explaining why!!

A phone call yesterday served to explain the situation a little better, and they have offered a £500 'goodwill gesture' off the price, making it more like £3000. Which isnt really a result, but I dont think there's much further we can take it, so we might just have to accept it and pay up. I had budgeted £1500 for the connection, so unfortunately that looks like a bit of our contingency gone :(
