After a bit of further investigation, we're going to use the plastic packers provided with the windows to pack the frames tight against the openings, and just cut them down to the right width. They seem to have given us about a million of them, so we might as well use what we've got rather than buying in a million more slightly different shaped plastic bits.

Weather is very unpredictable at the moment, one minute lovely sunshine, next minute very heavy rain.
