So, this guy turned up with his crane-lorry-thing, unloaded 12 tonnes of hardcore onto our drive, before going back and getting another 6 tonnes. That's 18 tonnes of hardcore, maths fans!

So then emma did some of this (no idea why this is a hyperlink, it shouldnt be):There's a tonne of hardcore in each of those bags! So then I did some of this:
And then my parents turned up and we did some more:
And some more (hyperlink again, stupid EeePC):And even more today, until it now looks like this:

What you can probably tell from the pictures is that's quite a lot of work. What you probably cant tell from the pictures is just how much work, or how back-breakingly hard it is to shovel that stuff out of the bags into the wheelbarrow! Imagine paddling a canoe up a river of gravel...

Yet again a groundworkers life seems a confusing one - spend ages digging a hole, spend a massive amount of money (£800 this time) filling it in again!

Over the next few days we'll be changing roles and doing bricklaying, as our BRC brick reinforcement arrived at 7.45am today. The wallplate timber also arrived from Griggs shortly after.
