On this day in 2008, we became the proud owners of our plot of land :-)
Drilled one more wallplate fixing last night, only 4 more to go now, yay. Another box of 50 arrived this morning. We also started the work to move the triple stud under the steel beam by 20mm, by cutting off the end of the wallplate it sits on, and undoing the fixing. The next stage is simply to thump it over at the bottom and then re-align the top before drilling another hole and doing the fixing back up. It's quite tight against the edge of the stud, in terms of space to get the drill in, but the longstop is to drill another hole.
It's getting so we cant do much work in the evenings now, we have barely an hour before it's too dark to continue safely. And in under a month's time we wont be able to do any work at all when the clocks go back at the end of the month. We will have to maximise our time at the weekends, and that means not getting a lie-in, and that is a Very Bad Thing™

In October 2008 we completed the purchase of a plot of land in Cheltenham, on which we are going to build our first house together. This blog will chart our progress on the build, and life in general, as I personally fulfil one of my life's ambitions - to build my own house :)

ReplyDeletemight be able to get a temp supply in the garage and put some floods up.. ( cable would pass the place where it's going on the house so can be re-sited later for the permanent feed.. )
